‘RECIDIVIST’
Got to say that I am a newbie when it comes to Somaesthesia but after listening to this I feel that I’m here to stay. Opener, ‘Trepanation’ has a stunning riff running through the entire track, the vocals are typically harsh and powerful, and the whole thing was far more melodic than I had at first anticipated. ‘Interlude’ is exactly that, short and atmospheric, setting things up nicely for ‘The Great Illusion’ which thunders along at great pace but includes a quite beautiful instrumental section before finishing with business as usual.
‘Contrition’ is by far the favourite with breaks aplenty and a magnificent solo. This is a very tight band with a clear direction. Look forward to catching them on the road. ‘Recidivist’ is an excellent slice of metal.
