Mention Sweden and enter quality. Blister Brigade are a class act but take a while to hit full speed with this one. Opener ‘Slugfest Supreme’ at 1.24 is simply a warmup for the band and then it's all systems go with ‘Ready to Crumble’ and ‘Storm the Walls.’ These two although excellent in their own right come across a little disjointed but its business as usual with ‘Arson.’ Here are the classic riffs we have been looking for, the hooks we expect and the vocal we love.
It goes without saying that the standard of playing is excellent especially on ‘Disintegrate’ and then there is the beautiful ‘; Through Murky Times’ with its simply blinding guitar solo. Everything goes up several notches with ‘SMM’ ‘Damaged Goods’ and the very infectious ‘Venomous Twister.’ Favourite tracks are the final two. ‘Pounding the Deadbeat’ and ‘Burn my world alive.’ These are Blister Brigade at their best. Hooks, riffs, infectious grooves, memorable choruses. The things we love and it's all here. Excellent work chaps. Excellent.
